I think front and tears are too wide but have an opportunity to buy at a good price and hoping these fit. The seller will make a one hour drive and agrees for me to test fit but wanted to see if there are any experts who can help. I don’t see this spec on any of my research yet.
dont want him to make the drive and it not fit. He doesn’t have a pcar but says the prev seller had a 997 so wanted to make sure. Maybe the previous owner had the 4/4s??? Thanks all for advice. Mainly making sure it clears strut and calipers
Standard setup is a 235/35 tire on a 8.5x19 wheel that has an offset of 53. For comparison to the wheel you're looking at...
a 10" wheel vs an 8.5" wheel is 1.5" wider. Half that dimension will go inward and half outward. That means from a stock setup your new wheel would be 19mm further in and further out.
Now the offset difference of 53 on a stock wheel vs 38 on this wheel means another 15mm further out. These wheels will be 34mm further out than a stock wheel setup, that's like running a 34mm wheel spacer on a stock wheel wheraas most people run 7mm in the front.
I don't think you'll have an inboard side clearance problem as the extra wheel width that pushes to the inside will be mostly negated by the low offset spec of the wheel (all but 4mm). 19" wheels should clear any Porsche offered brakes including PCCBs unless they have an odd spoke and/or barrel profile.
I've also never heard of anyone running larger than a 255 width front tire and the tires on here are 275. That's a good match for the 10" wide wheel, but not for a normal Carrera car - maybe they came off a car that had front Cup Flares or a race car with different bodywork, but they're going to not look good on any normal Carrera. BTW, the fronts of all the narrow body and wide body cars are exactly the same width - the wide body cars (everything except a C2, C2S, and GT3) are only wider in the rear so wouldn't change the front fitment.
For a point of reference, these wheels I had on my car for a very short time were 19x8.5 with 42mm offset which put them outward 11 mm vs a stock setup (53-42) and they weren't anywhere near flush with the fender line. The setup you're looking at would be almost another full inch further out. The car didn't look good or drive well with this setup.
