HomeLink in 997.2 actual "HomeLink"?

I know that pairing the 997 with different operators is a source of grief to some but for me I'm able to pair the wife's 997.2 C4S Cab.....though it occasionally loses it's brains and needs reprogramming.
So, my question is....the general homelink term is thrown around a bit and I'm wondering if the 997.2 actually utilizes the proprietary "HomeLink" system.

I'm thinking it does since I'm able to get her car to work w/our older (roaming code) operator however, absolutely no way I can get it to work with a newer Benz or Taycan. Both of their manuals are very specific on referring to the "HomeLink" (with trademark) as a requirement.....and if you have issues check your operator for compatibility.

There are many....many things we can not yet get working on the Tay and I'm just trying to use the 997.2 as a 'control' in my quest. Lots of fun.
The C4S is almost a 10 year old car. Are we pretty sure that car, back then, was "Homelink"?
Thanks in advance for any opins.

Yes, both the 997.2 and newer MBZ use HOMELINK. I programed the HL in the wife's car (2020benz) with rolling codes. Was actually easier than my Porsche. Both cars also took the HOA security gate code.
