Knowing you as a professional detailer, I figure you went about it the correct way.

As for others claims, I can't vouch. I can, however, attest to my personal experience with Rejex, P21S and other products on my vehicles. Rejex is the only thing that has been used on my '04 C4S Cab, and the paint looks like the car was done yesterday. Daily driver too. Washing? Hell yeah I use soap. Anyone not would be stupid. But....the nice thing with Rejex is that the water pressure DOES take a majority of the crud off the car before you start washing. It works for me every time. I do garage the car at home and here at the office/warehouse, so it does not get maximum outside exposure, another factor in how long these products last.

I Rejex the Porsche (and daughter's Jetta, and my parts hauler Escape, and the wife's Audi) about every 3 months. So far so good.

And finally, if you did buy Rejex from us, and are not happy with it, return it for a refund (email me). If not, I'd suggest contacting whomever you purchased from, as they would likely offer a similar refund.
Eric, I probably have applied it to 6 different cars (my old acura, fathers vette, brothers audi, and a few customers cars), I even did side by side comparisons on my wifes accord, Zaino on one panel, Rejex on another, P21S on another, NXT on another, etc. This test went on for about 12 weeks.

As far as prep, the basic steps; clay, polish, apply the LSP (rejex in this case). I even did my own car w/ no polish and cleaned the paint w/ a water/alcohol mix to make sure that it wasn't the oils in the polish that were causing the problem. But as mentioned, all of this is subjective. As I stated earlier, a good thing to live by is; find something YOU like and use it often. I feel zaino and rejex lack the "pop" on metallic cars, they'd look great on something like white or a solid red, but for me personally, i'm not looking for the most amazing reflection. What I feel these products lack is teh depth and overall appearance that I find in products like P21S. But then again, most people find using a carnuba as something ancient these days. They want something that will last forever, and ironically they'll still be applying this "last forever" wax every month and with Zaino esp.; multiple coats which completely defeats the purpose IMO.

As far as a refund, I got one of them for free as someone from another board wanted to hear my opinions on it and sent me a bottle. I payed for the other, no need to try to get a refund, I just chalked it up as another one of those "I need to try it products". I've done that probably 30 times now and keep going back to my old faithfulls.

To each his own. I currently have a seal grey Carrera S and I am some what ****-retentive about my cars and have tried numerous products over the last several years. I also do not care to much for Rejex or Zanio. Here is what works best for me:

Tire cleaner - Blackfire gel wheel & tire cleaner or Menzerna tire cleaner
Plastic parts - Plexus
Glass - Stoner's Invisible glass
Car Shampoo - Pinnacle (love the coconut smell and oily feel that allows the grit and grim to slide of the car and not scratch it when being rinsed
Mirrors - Zooks
Polish - Menzerna Final polish II
Glaze - Menzerna finishing touch glaze
Sealer - Menzerna FMJ
Protection - Klasse High gloss sealant glaze and all-in-one
Final coat of wax - Pinnacle Souveran Carnauba wax or PS21

I tried Mequiers products, blue Zymol and Mother's and I agree Mequiers is the easiest to take off. However I 'm still on my quest for that perfect shine.
Has anyone tried liquid floor wax?

Thanks all for the wide spectrum of waxes, from some of the responses it appears that wearing depends is in order while waxing and waxing, since waxing & waxing for some may be akin to an orgy.

Rejex Story and Pics

So here's my Rejex story. Yes, I paid Eric for a pint. No, I don't want my money back... I really like it.

First off, I'm a mechanical engineer with a basic understanding of chemistry. I don't claim to be a chemist, but I've tried most all of the mid-range to upper-mid-range wax / cleaner / polish products on several cars - black BMW, metallic grey Acura, white Saab, blue metallic Saab. The Bimmer looks freaking incredibly deep (the "black mirror" effect) when you do the whole "wash / wash / tar&bug / clay / hand polish #1 / hand polish #2 / carnuba" sequence - but it never lasts for very long.

And most importantly - I've traveled 100k or more a year for business for the last 17 years. When I have a free day at home, I want to drive the damned car, not rub it for ten hours... (although I've been known to enjoy a ten hour rubbing ;-).That why the Rejex concept sounded good to me. As the 997 is new, I felt that this would be the best time to test it.

Rejex is not a polish or a wax. It's not a cleaner, either - so if you wipe it onto a non-pristine surface, it'll look like crap. It was designed as a soil-blocker / anti-staining agent for airplane surfaces, especially around turbine exhausts.

And no, it doesn't shine like carnuba, but it looks pretty darned good (pics attached). Most importantly, it's slicker than Hell - and that's the best way to keep road junk from sticking to the paint.

I started with a wash (Meguiar's Car Shampoo). Then, spot work with Bug & Tar remover - it's amazing how much tar those 305s kick up in the back. Next, a detailed clay pass (again, Meguiars). Now here's the part that made me a bit nervous - another wash with... Dawn dish soap.

I know, I'd NEVER do that to a car unless I wanted to strip all of the wax. And it did, including the remnants of spray detailer clay lube. Okay, let's do the first coat of Rejex... problem #1 - the stuff is damned hard to see on a silver car! Now I understood why Eric suggested two coats - you need a second pass to ensure that you have 100% coverage. After I got most of the hood done, I brought in a set of halogens on stands and found that they helped a lot. About halfway thru the first coat, I had it down to a science. Comes off waaaay easy; rotated in about a dozen of my microfiber towels and got it looking really good... also, it doesn't mark window rubber or gaskets, so you don't have to blue-tape everything.

Then, 12 hour "cure" time. Wow, it looked much shinier after a day of curing. Slick, too - threw a microfiber on the hood and watched it slide down to the crest. But why stop there?

Second coat was even easier. To be able to just apply this stuff - no worries about getting it off the rubber or out of the rear-deck script - made the job go fast. When I had the second coat on, I went back and put a coat on my Sport Designs, also. I love these wheels, but they are tedious to clean (p.s. - I said tedious, not difficult. BMW basketweaves are difficult to clean...) so if Rejex works here, I'll be happy.

Another day for cure time, and we rolled her out this afternoon. I am impressed. Yes, I know that I'll have to use soap (Meguiar's, not Dawn ) to get the car clean. Yes, the finish would look "deeper" with a multi-pass carnuba regime. But nothing sticks to the Rejex coated surfaces - I watched a water droplet race across the hood and just disappear - no trace, no tracks.

That's EXACTLY what I was looking for - a surface treatment to keep my _driver_ Porsche looking good for the long run. Guys, I'm not knocking the 'full-chemistry' detailing plan, it is definitely a superior shine. But if Rejex is truly "stain-blocking", then it will serve exactly as I want it to...

I'll let you know (in one month and three months) how its holding up. I hope that I'm this happy regarding Rejex at that point. Thanks, Eric - good call!

(P.S. - talk about lazy, the clear side marker lights are still on my bench... maybe next Friday afternoon? )

-don
