997 cabriolet top not sucking down and clamshell juddering
I have a 997 and the rear clamshell isn’t closing properly. It judders and stops and then reopens when putting the top down. When the soft top folds and gets “sucked down” flat it releases about a 1/4 inch enough to not let the clamshell close. After three or four tries the top is finally sucked down enough and it closes. If i put pressure on the soft top and push down the clamshell closes ok.
The hydraulic cylinders are working and not leaking and the micro switches for the flaps are ok. I am curious what pulls the top down and why it is releasing a little after being sucked down. This has been ongoing and I would love to find a resolution. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
