Help please!!!

Can anybody help with identifying noise coming from the engine area? It's hard to pinpoint but it seems coming from front bottom area. It's not noticeable inside with windows closed but obvious otherwise. It happen right after my oil change. After warming up the car I started driving aggressively and missed didn't put in 3rd gear and hit the rev limiter in neutral. I pulled over but other then noise everything seemed to be fine. I drove home about 5 miles and the car felt normal. Next morning checked oil level again which was good but noise stayed. Not sure if it's ok to drive the car to the mechanic or if it's something critical and I should have it towed to not risk engine damage. Any thought will be appreciated. Carrera C2S 3.8 2006 70k miles. Thanks in advance.

sounds to me like exhaust gas leak. Could alternatively be intake suction sound. With no visible dripping of fluids, I'd concentrate on air flow in or out being the areas to look at. maybe in the high-rev scenario something came a bit loose. If you open the decklid, do you hear the noise anywhere particular?

At some point I suspected exhaust leak as well but recently went under the car with stethoscope and it looks like the sound is coming mostly from transmission housing where the clutch is located. Could it be clutch? I was thinking maybe timing chain but noise is barely detectable when setting up stethoscope on the motor close to the clutch. Also sound got much less obvious. It's bizarre and I think I need to take it to the shop and let them look at it. Hopefully the noise got nothing to do to the actual motor.
