New to the Porsche fam

Just purchased a 2009 997.2 targa 4s. Midnight blue metallic. Found this chat was looking for some photos and opinions on two things:

1. Car came with clear bra on front hood & side view mirrors. Was thinking remove those and have car detailed. Previous owner #2 said he purchased it and car had it on there all the way back to 2012. Any thoughts?

2. I’m a bbs guy ever since I saw my dad sport a 1984 gold 535i with gold bbs rims. I don’t think the gold would look good with the blue, beige inside and the chrome fittings over doors. Anyone got photos I can see or be pointed in right direction. Was thinking classic BBS 19” all chrome. Maybe red center piece to match red brakes?

Congrats on your 2009 997.2 Targa 4S!
Chrome BBS wheels would be a timeless choice. Gold rims might clash with your car's colors, so chrome with red center caps to match the brakes could be a classy touch.
Enjoy customizing your ride!

Congrats on your purchase! I bought mine in 2021, a 2012 Black Edition. It had dealer installed PPF when new. I took my time and used a clothes steamer, like a travel size one. Heat slowly and when it becomes soft, begin pulling carefully at it. 3M makes an adhesive remover that will remove any residual glue/adhesive. The whole front half of my car was covered. It took 5 days total to remove it all at a cost of around $100. Use distilled water to stop the calcium buildup on the steamer. It was by far the best thing I have done thus far. My paint is spotless and is almost perfect. Unfortunately, the only way to keep it looking new is to recover it in PPF. The difference between new PPF and old faded PPF is astonishing.
