my 997S is now almost 1200 miles (driven 700 in 2 months). i have been shifting around 3-4k RPM and still appreciating the power of this car.

as i will soon reach 2k miles (hopfully within 3 months), i am excited to know that i can push it at much higher RPM and can't even imagine the power. just curious to know what RPM do you guys typically shift just on a normal drive. thanks.

 

It depends, usually 3000-4500.

 

Depends how you drive. I shift in the 45-5500 range. Matching revs is key in a consistent, aggressive power response. The car will tell you when it is time to shift.

300-4000? You have got to be kidding me? I drive around at 4000 RPM. I typically shift at 5500 but when I am hammering, it is all the way to redline.

I'll mosey around 4000 enjoying the sound of my full AWE and won't hesitate to visit redline every now and again...

 

all the way to red line... at least once every time i go out with it.

 

The rev limiter MUST be tested several times during every drive.
