Supercharger Question!

I believe it's time to take things to the next level

I did a search before and didn't find the answers i was looking for... so don't kill me guys!! Just help me!!

I have in mind either EVOMS or RUF S/C Kits... I know Ruf costs two times more than EVOMS, is it really worth it??? I know you get the same amount of power or even less with the RUF.

Money is no object so far, my only concern is RELIABILITY!! Which one would you chose and why???

Thanks.

I have no experience with the Ruf. (not many do) I can only assume it follows the fine tradition of quality as their previous products. I can speak to the Evo as I have had mine installed for over 15,000 miles with no problems. I know many would echo my comments re the Evo and it cost less than half.

Nice stable you have there.

If cost is not the prime consideration, Ruf all the way.

Why not just trade for a new 997 Turbo?

The evo s/c on my 997S with full exhaust churns out 540 hp and is smoooothe as stock. The s/c is quiet yet lightening fast... and is set at a low and reliable 4.5 lbs of boost.... harmless to the motor. Keep in mind that EVO has installed over 100 of their s/c kits in the 996's and not one has ever caused motor damage.

I think i'm gonna go with the EVO... I talked to the guys at RUF AUTO CENTRE (great guys by the way) and told me that if i wanted to supercharge my car they would have to either send a technician to Argentina or send my car back to the US, which obviously would cost me around 30K for everything.

and as far as getting the new turbo... I really want to get to enjoy this one first. I'm only 21... what's next if I get a TT now?

Thanks for the replies

I'm sure the evo is great, but the Ruf looks better to me.
Damn, when I was 21 I sure wasn't supercharging 911's, must be nice
How about some pics of that garage, looks sweet.

was thinking the same thing about the garage, i'm 21 too but that's the only common point

I personnaly like aftermarket look, and seeing this big chromed vortech blower in the engine compartment sounds too good for me, imo ruf is too stealth.

Sounds like the Evo is the way to go. Wish I had my porsche when I was 21 eventhough thats just a few years back. Than again I was in NY so I got a Land Rover to get through those snow days in college. No regrets, just wish I had more money now, cause I really really want the GT3

Thanks for the kind words

That's the actual family garage... the CGT is dad's obviously!!!

we've had really nice cars in the past years like 996TT, Audi RS4 2.7 biturbo, M3s and a couple of daily drivers...

I'll post some pictures and videos whenever i get a little extra time!!

Thanks again guys.

evo looks like the way to go. the RUF is TIGHT kit but couldn't come up with dyno numbers that could beat the evo. the guys at rufautocenter in TX said their runs were not reproducible.
