Hi All,

I installed a set of AWE-Tuning mufflers on my 997S last night. These muffler sound awesome and there is no resonance. For the cost and quality, you cannot beat these mufflers! Comparing these mufflers to other alternatives: I drove a car with Tubi's and even though they have a slightly different pitch, there was this horrific resonance at 2500 rpm. I have only heard the PSE from the exterior and it sounds great, but the cost from factory or even as an afterthought is substantially more money. I have no affiliation to AWE, just a happy customer.

Check out fabspeeds, a guy on rennlist gained 27hp on a 997S.

 

Those are some hefty numbers for a non-turbo car.

 

997S has a seriously detuned exhaust from the factory so those numbers are not that shocking, especilally with the AWE. You won't even get an extra 10 on a non-S.

Am I correct in thinking that PSE gives no hp improvement over the stock factory mufflers?

I like the PSE, but would be affraid of switching to a quieter muffler. I think I heard that the AWE may be one of the quieter mufflers at idle.

 

It is pretty quiet at idle. It has a deeper tone.

 

Correct, no improvement in power gains with the OEM PSE. I too have the AWE headers, cats, mufflers paired with the EVO intake and GIAC FLASH. I did a before and after dyno and pulled about +30HP in my 2006 997S.

I love the sound and the gains!
