I still don't understand how Porsche can call a big sunroof a 'targa.'

Because they invented the Targa production car name (name is from the Targa Florio race not the body style).

This car looks a little wonky in my opinion though. Back slopes too far down.

The targa always seems to flop, no? in the 993 it was just a cab with a heavier hard top (i.e. raised the CG). I'm not sure but I think the 996 was built the same way.

Your wish is granted - I believe the new targas are based on C4 and C4S - or I guess it will be the T4 and T4S.

exactly ... so a targa is basically a big-*** sunroof right?

I agree the whole room line looks kinda weird. Maybe its just the photos? Probably not!
