Lowering with aero kit?

I have the aero kit and love it. When I get my new wheels in a couple of weeks, the look would benefit greatly from some springs.

I already scrape the front spoiler enough that I can't handle any more.

Does anyone have pictures of their car with it removed. It would definitly take away from appearance somewhat, but then I could lower the car

it will look way off if u remove the lip spoiler. however, instead of painting it to match the body color u can always paint it black (matt or semi) like the GT3. or even better just get the 997 GT3 lip instead. i'm sure it'll be black & fits right on. just an idea.

I would go with the unpainted gt3 lip like arling said, i had the 996 gt3 bumper with the unpainted lip, it would always scrape but looked fine,
here is a pic of the stig's car
it kind of reminds me of the rinnspeed bumper (the curves at the bottom edge)

I guess I'll have to wait for the car to be released before I can get any information on the GT3 piece

Evil,

you can order the spoiler lip. it will come primered gray. I got mine and used a textured black spray paint and painted it myself. it looks great and if you scrape it you can touch it up easily enough. i can take a pic if you want.

hurry up with those wheels man!! my car is waiting for yours!

I'd love to get the aero kit (maybe with a different rear wing), but we have a serious incline driveway and I'd be worried about ripping the front spoiler off the car. My non-lowered 996 sometimes scraped with the stock front bumper.

We got a couple more weeks on the wheels, the wait is killing me too.

Do you know the part number?

Pics of your car would be great. Was it the GT3 lip you used, is there a difference between the aero and GT3 lip. Was it a straight replacement without any modification?

Thanks

the lip is the same as the one on your aerokit...just comes primered from the factory. my parts dept tried to find them unpainted but had no luck. another aerokit guy in VA had the same issue when he ordered his.

you need to pop out one rivet on each side and the lip just pops off...very easy. I will get you some pics asap

what wheels are you getting, by the way?

I'm getting iForged Emotion's in 19's.

Instead of buying a new lip, I could use my factory one I suppose

Here's a picture of HOW LOW it sits with H&R and the LIP ON!

The picture that Raffi posted as he previously said was when i got the car delivered, the take off the lip. It's really low.
Don't worry too much about scrapping it... it won't brake and paint won't come off neither. I scrap it everytime i take it out the driveway and it just bends. First couple of times it really hurts!! But when you notice that the lip was made for being scrapped you'll be OK. The lower part of the lip is really narrow so you dont really scratch it or remove the paint... you are just molding it

In the picture with the cover you can really see how low it sits as the cover itself makes a good contrast of the car.

Hope this helps and congratulations

I'm not so sure about the paint not coming off as you can see the picture from the truly unavoidable.

Although it is only the paint and can be redone easily.
