I am up to 4. ?? at almost 5k. Also gas mileage seem's terrible compared to my 996. Does the 997 S burn more fuel?

Thanks

Man, in some respects these cars are weird. I had my engine replaced about 5k miles ago due to burning 2 quarts every 200 to 400 miles. I realize that some oil consumption is usual. Now with the new engine, as near as I can tell there is NO oil use. I keep checking and the thing is at the top bar. WTF?
To me 4 quarts in 4k miles sounds a little high.

I read in the manual that the engine may burn some up during break in. The car runs fine too. Should I be worried? I drive it pretty hard too.

My electronic meter all the sudden started telling me I was below the low mark with no real prior warning. This was at about 5k. So I took it into the dealer, told them to top it off, and throw a supercharger on it for good measure. Sounds wise, huh? Us Southern boys ain't the most logical fellers on the street...

If you are burning 1 qt every 1000 miles, I sure would have the car at the dealership everyday until they identified the reason and eliminated it. Don't fall for this **** that all Porsche's burn oil.

I swear to everyone I love that I have to put in a quart almost every other time I fill my car up. WTF? I have added oil over 15 times and I have 11k miles on the ride. I do not drive particularily hard either.

Neil- How did you get your engine replaced? How can I prove my oil consumption to the dealer?
