Eric - thanks for all your work on this. Do you have a timeline for when video IPOD's might be supported?

Not 100% sure...but video capability is already functional on one of the test units...not sure it will come early or perhaps months later, but we'll know more once this test round is complete.

Kevin, your's is ready.

Here's the latest:

Latest tests (this week's) have gone VERY well. There are two minor additions we would like to have on the unit, and the manufacturer says they are willing to do it, and can turn this around in a week or so. Once the next units arrive, they will be installed in Boxster, Cayman, 997/996 and some other models with MOST ('03+) for final testing. So my guess is another 10 days to two weeks max.

But the units in testing this past week peformed remarkably well, and everyone was satisfied with the results. Now a few more options will get in that box, and we should be good to go.

Sorry for the saga, just reporting the news. Thx.

From this same thread...

List price is $599 (group buy price will be less!)
Cradle will accept Nano
Cable will accept most iPod models
The dension.com site showing the other unit is Euro, NOT a US model
CD Changer will be disabled
Video not yet able to display on screen for video iPods, but apparently upgradable
First units are for NAV only cars. PCM without NAV is a non-nav car for this purpose.
Non Nav cars will have similar product release in about 30 days
Pro Install recommended, fiber optic stuff may be tricky
Beta Testing for units will be THIS week (8/1/06)
We anticipate in house inventory within two weeks of beta test.
Order site will go live on 8/1 for deposits for group buy

Thanks.
