Everything fits in the area that has the Nav unit and CD changer. The antenna is under the plastic cowl in front of the windshield. It replaces the original GPS antenna and has both the Sirius and GPS built in. There is nothing that you can see and it works perfectly. Its a mystery why Porsche doesn,t sell this for the 997.

8/19/06

....my guess is another 10 days to two weeks max.

.....the units in testing this past week peformed remarkably well, and everyone was satisfied with the results.

So "what's up Doc ?" ( I mean " what's up Plug Guy ?? )

Group buy is still on. Send me all your money. I will be in the Bahamas for four months and I'll get back to you.

Yes, still testing. Anytime there is any minor glitch, engineering and manufacturing get their noses in there and do something, then reinstall, retest, etc. That's why we won't ask for deposits until we have the beast in hand ready to go.

Don't know the timetable, wish I did, but don't want to burst another bubble here. But I do know the so-called 'other' product that was released is full of bugs, and there are too many problems with it, which is why I think this is better off not released for sale until ready.

PCM vs Non PCM.

First units are designed for nav-only cars. Expected release for non-nav is 30 days after first units go out.

Word as of tonight is that there are at least 4-6 more days of testing scheduled, and I expect some firm answers from Dension late next week.

It'll be worth every day of waiting once it happens. I am looking forward to this.

Eric, I am assuming you're going to keep those of us on e-mail in the loop? I will give my deposit when needed.

Just as a little aside, here, Dension has some of the worst customer support I've ever experienced. Hopefully, something like DICE will be available for the 997 and no one will have to buy something from Dension. You might check http://www.m3forum.net for some discussions (I've complained about them a lot there, but others have as well).

Trust me .. we have done our share of complaining about them too. Every month they say its almost complete, then they need 6-8weeks of testing; rinse and repeat. Eric is doing a great job of keeping us in touch, but at the end of the day .. dension are just not capable of delivering on time.
