I'm not sure if this is just my 997S, but is it normal for the radio controls to be significantly delayed? By delayed, I mean that if you use the next/previous track button for a CD, it changes the track after a second, then the display catches up after another second. It's fairly annoying when trying to skip to a specific track - you end up going right past.

Is this behavior normal?

yeah I guess it is normal, this happens on mine also.. very annoying. Its like having a slow computer.

 

Yes. this sucks. I think it has to do with CD Text. I noticed that if you do not have the CD text showing, you can't use the controls. To fix, you can often select another display (Audio, Nav, etc) and then switch back to Main and then it often shows up and you are able to change tracks on the CD. This is one of my biggest peeves on the 997.

 

Mine does it as well. wish it wasnt so difficult to put in an aftermarket unit. almost hate it enough to trade the 997 in on a 996tt just so I can have a decent nav system

 

Noticed that as well. Didn't have that issue on other Porsches.
