Taking delivery in December, need color help
What's up fellows
I placed a deposit for a 07 C4S, delivery set for December cause I currently have an E500 (lease up in Jan 07). I love the C4S in every color possible, but I am between three specifically and want some opinions. Midnight Blue because Lapis is special order and will not pay 3K for that option, Red, or Artic Silver. All these options with tan full leather. Recently saw a SIlver with Tan and it was an interesting combo....any thoughts
Thanks

Ihave lapis and I really like the look, but like all dark colors it is a pain to keep clean and shows everysmall chip. If I had to choose again I might go with silver. It shows little dirt.
The midnight blue is a very attractive color and quite compatable with a tan interior. Silver is getting to be all too common. The car is going to need to be washed one a week anyway. I ended up getting lapis blue, but it was a tossup.
Full leather is luxurious and a good option to choose. By all means get the heated seats. Some steering wheel options have gray plastic, which clashes with tan. Sport seat backs also are gray plastic, but can be ordered with leather backs or painted. Standard seats have matching vinyl backs.

If I were you, I would get a guards red C4s with aerokit, black full leather interior with guards red painted seatbacks and guards red seatbelts, and maybe even a guards red center console. Tint the windows and the get the optional 10-spoke sport wheels. You're done.
If the mod bug rears it's head, you can throw on a cargraphic CF front lip, some CF mirrors, and full CF interior, perhaps some Techart Formula anchors, and an EVOMS SC. My god that would be a hot car. Sorry if I just cost you ~~$120k. Then again, if you're planning on modding, perhaps you should go for the turbo to satisfy your craving and at least keep your re-sale value instead of pawning the aftermarket parts.

My thought on color was a combination of 1) keeping the car clean (I live in CT where washing cars once a week is pretty standard for me and 2) how much attention I wanted to attract (not much).
I saw Hussain's suggested Guards/Black Aero kit while at the Arlington VA dealer - it was stunning and I almost bit on it right there!!! But reality struck - this is going to be my daily driver!
I could never drive that in my little conservative northeast village!
I opted to go "under the radar" - no pun intended - and go with an unbadged Arctic Silver/Blue with Guards belts and dials.
Some of the colors are fantastic, but I didn't want the giddy excitment of owning my first Porsche to be splashed all over the road in a bright yellow/red/blue mess....

LeonJR,
I saw a Silver/Tan Cayenne recently and I have to admit it's a good combo, but I'm not sure it would be on a 997. The only thing I'd worry about tan (sand beige) is the maintenance of it ie. will it still look that clean & bright in 2-3 years? the other option is to go 2-tone like I have (except I'm going 2-tone black/terracotta on a basalt black Turbo, so a very different look)
The hottest Artic Silver I have seen to date is a 997S at my dealer with black interior (hold on now) WITH red seatbelts and red stitching around the seats. VERY NICE.. It's subtle on the outside but a little naughty on the inside. The red stitching was even on the front edge of the dashboard.

Well...Midnight blue is simply awesome. Would be one of the colors to choose IMO.
You know with that thread your ideas will get not so a positive way...anyone will suggest you the preferred color...infact I suggest you Mexico blue
( I think is a special one anyway! ). I just felt in love with this one cause a guy around here has it...Russ??
If you don't mind about my suggestion...go for the beautiful Midnight blue

I appreciate everyones reply and advise, I was unable to reply untill today that my account was activated....strange. I am leaning towards the artic and tan, just to change it up a bit. I will only be driving the car twice a week so it should not be that bad (garage kept ofcourse). Im in Miami, so you don't see many silver 997's. What I do see in every corner is another black one. Then again I have only owned dark cars...is as if I am afraid of getting tiered of silver???
Anyway, I left a deposit for a November build deliver in December...Merry X -mas to me huh.. The car will have full leather, sport chrono, sport seats, Bose, and porsche crest on seats. Wheels I plan on GFG Spiello 5 20" although I know they are heavy. Option 2 is the rinspeed C5 in 20" as for other mods I am sure that I will do full exhaust. I wonder how much horsepower full exhaust can bump you up? Anyway, if anyone had a silver tan 997 please forward picks, and if anyone has the rinspeed wheels C5's please forward picks...look forward to seeing all your cars.
