I have switched sides
OK guys, I just got back with my 2006 atlas carrera s cab.
I just love it. I bought it used off of a guy in north Jersey. 5600 miles.
Nav, Adaptive seats, bose, sport shift, blah blah blah.
Pics to come later.

I know I need to redo my info now. And I need to post some pics so one of the great artists can make me a new avatar.
Yea, Robert this is all you fault. I ended up not getting the sport chrono....I wanted it but some of the guys said it was no big deal and the car was really nice otherwise. Just the right deal at the right time. I guess I am better late than never. Tomorrow my 996 goes... I will miss the bose the wing and the front bumper. The 997 areo bumper and the gt3 bumper are great. Maybe mods in the future.

Wow! 3 quarts?!?!?! That sounds about right. I have about the same mileage on mine and I think it has used around 2-3 quarts. That means whoever owned it before you never bothered to top it off. I seem to remember a low oil warning coming on whenever I hit the 1 quart mark.
What do you think of it so far compared to the 996?

Very happy. Rides and handles so much better. Just too much traffic around here.
Robert,
He said the warning came on once, but not again. So he didn't add any oil. I don't think the guy even read the manual. He didn't know how to use the nav either. I had 3 quarts at my house so I put them in. Now it is 1 bar from the top. The car runs perfect. Any damage done?

) because of the decrease in oil volume. No point taking a chance considering you have 14k miles to go before the official oil change. If it's any consolation, I have read somewhere that there is enough oil in these engines that running a couple of quarts low will not harm anything. Are you having Rick to a system transfer? I spoke to him a while back and I hear there is a 997 system available. BTW, I love Atlas Grey as well. I almost picked up a Atlas Grey TurboS Cab instead of mine.

Dont worry on the oil if it gets to the lowest bar on the indicator there is still a safe amount of oil in there to run the engine, would it make sense to get there and not be so. Mine came on a few times in the 996 and I asked Champion they told me add oil and I never had an issue..
