Porsche 997 gets a subtle nip and tuck
We all knew this was coming. I hesitated buying mine due to this info, but finally gave in. I got a great deal and who knows if in a year or two I could make the financial commitment. So for now I am more than happy.

Based on the 996 example Porsche made some changes both cosmetically and engine wise a few years into it. I dont see Porsche skipping to the 998 without minor tweaks here and there to the 997. I would guess 998 to be a 2010 model personally.
here is a quick ps-job. i think the fog-lamp/indicator are boxter styled...

i catched the following one near the Nürburgring...
its a little audi-styled, but i like this rear lights!!

seems like the upper portion of the light doesn't change i'd guess the difference will be the reshaped light & rear bumper. wonder if that can be easily converted from current 997. another thought is will the Turbo, GT3 & upcoming GT2 receive the same treatment?
GT3 will more than likely end at that time the new 911 is launched for a few years. Same goes for Turbo - if this is indeed the 998.
Personally I think we are seeing a 997 refreshing here, I could be wrong of course, but thats what Im guessing and its based on previous production history from the 996 and what they did to that after a few years.
If so then you might see LED rear lamps across the board.

this must be the 997 facelift. i don't see Porsche rushing into 998 now since the Panamera will be the next big thing. the facelift is about time which will keep the new shoppers happy for few years.
