HR Springs installed.

Picked the car up today with the lowered springs. It looks great. This is the height all 997 should be stock. It was to late to snap pics but I will post some tomorrow. They say it drops it an inch but it looks lower to me. I guess I will have to worry about the front spoiler of the techart kit scraping now.

It ride about as smooth as stock which was very surprising. I thought it might be a little harsh being lowered.

Thank for all the help guys on making this desicion.

Heath, I can't wait to see the car! I am thinking of doing this. Did Reeves do the work? How much $$$?

I went to Sebring this last weekend for a driver ed event. WOW I can't begin to tell you how fun it is to really drive the car on a race track....at full speed!

Mike, Reeves did the work. It took them one day and the cost was $379.00 for springs+ labor of 6 hours at $90.00 an hour(normally $102.00 an hour) and $215.00 for alignment.

Car runs great no noticable difference in ride quality. I will post some pics soon. We should meet up after the holiday maybe watch some football.

I wanted to do the sebring thing but I had a charity golf tournment that day for hillsborough schools. I will be at the next one. When is it again? I haven't looked yet.

Wow, 6 hours of labor to install a set of springs at 90.00 an hour? Someone really took their time to install them. It only took my shop 2 hours to install my Pss9's but 3 hours max on a set of springs. Enjoy the ride though

Golfman - Does your car have PASM? If so, does PASM still work properly?

Thanks - can't wait to see the pics!

Key word "should" - I agree, but I'd like to KNOW that it works properly. For example, Rinspeed advertises springs specifically for PASM-equipped cars. Not the kind of thing where you want to drop some $$ and have the PASM crap out.

Yes the PASM works properly. The car stiffen when it is on. As far as the labor hours. That is the required amount of mechanic hours for this job. Same amount that techart books for their springs. Which are made by Eibach I believe. Now we all know a good mechanic can do this in half the time. But that doesnt reduce what a shop will charge you.

V35 what was your total charge for springs. If it was less then mine then I guess you got a deal. I think it is a stretch to say that I got ripped off like LIL RAJA said.

Happy Turkey day guys. I promise I will post pics after T-day.

Many times there aren't actually PASM specific springs. Companies specify with or without PASM only to give you an idea of how much it is going to lower the car. Cars with PASM sit ~10mm lower that cars without PASM. Since PASM cars start at a lower ride height, lowering springs won't have as drastic of an effect on the height of the car.

PASM will stay intact no matter what spring you run. PASM has to do with the shocks of the vehicle, not the springs.

Ruf quoted 6 hours labor + $140 for the alignment, but their springs are a couple bucks more

I think the RUF springs are made by H&R. I know in a recent article in excellence magazine that a RUF boxster was fitted with H&R springs because RUF springs weren't available. Not sure if they make all their springs, it is just what I heard.

I know PASM has to do with the shocks, but if the springs are too stiff, it won't allow the dampers their full range of travel (or at least not in the right period of time).

I appreciate the answers - I think the H&R springs are the way to go...

Still want to see some pics!
