Camber Issues?
Camber Issues?
Hi guys, I just recently purchased a 997 and still pretty new to this forum. I want to know are there any camber issues after lowering about 1 1/4" all around? Is it possible to align the camber back to OEM specs after lowering the car? I've made several attempts searching for camber issues for 997s, but mostly found topics on 996s. Please help. Thanks in advance.
After my car was dropped 1.5 " and changed over to H & R springs the camber was really whacked out. It took Porsche awhile, and they complained to me in the waiting room (whimpy dealership), but they got the specs back to normal. I got a print out on the before and after..I just put new PS2's Pilot Sport Michelins, love them too much, had it aligned again lol, no issues, handles great...
I lowered mine on H&R with a little bit of extra negative camber at the front. I got the work done @ Brandywine Porsche in PA.
Vik - I keep trying to rep you, but it's making me spread it around!

Thanks for the info, guys!
Vincenzina, did the dealer need any special parts to bring back the camber back to normal specs?

Hi Vincenzina, u mind posting the final value for the camber adjustment after dealership adjustment? I also lowered my 997s by eibach springs and I think the camber alignment is screwed and I need to have them adjusted.
Thx.
Thx.
I called around to a few dealerships in my area to find alignment "specials" porsche dealerships were offering...$149 first alignment, 2nd alignment after putting on Michelin PS2's- pilot sports was $189, best I could find, they were about a year apart though...(2) different dealerships in San Francisco area. some places I called wanted $350 plus-..goodluck.

Once lowered, the rear will always have more negative camber than it did stock, unless you replace the rear control arms with adjustable ones. The front can be dealt with by grinding the adjustment slots out if necessary. The rear has enough adjustment so that it won't eat up tires too fast, but will still be more aggressive than stock.
