So, I really hate the plastic door sills - BOTH outside and inside the rubber door seals. Why do expensive cars (like Mercedes and Porsche) come with these? They scratch when you breath on them.....

I know Porsche offers choices as options when ordering, but since I bought my car used, I am looking to change after-the-fact.

Obviously, many of you have done this as well. What I am asking for is resources AND feedback on the actual products.....please

 

I ordered the SS sills from Suncoast. I was going to try to replace them myself ,but after learning what was involved i had the dealer do it for $50.

 

do the door sills have anything written on them? Or better yet can you get them illuminated? Very interested.

 

They have your model Carrera, Carrera S, Turbo, etc. You can get them illuminated.

 

Can you get the CF one illuminated? Or is this just the stainless steel version?

 

I was wrong about the lighted version . That is only in the Cayenne.

 

I saw the official order guide of the 997 turbo and it has the stainless steel illuminated doorsills listed as a 780 USD option

Wires go into the fuse box.

 

I have the illuminated SS ones and love them! I keep trying to upload a pic of it but keep getting an error each time...what am I doing wrong? I resized it...the same size ones that work on other boards but no dice here??

I have a similar option on my AMG as well. I think I might have a pic in my hard drive. Let me search for it and post it later tonight.

 

So you have to route the wires from the sill to the box? A PITA on the passenger side right?
