Hello blink with headlights
Hello blink with headlights
It was kind of nice for the porsches I had until about 1999 to see and acknowlege another porsche owner on the road with a blink of the headlights. I kind of did not see that with the last 2 porsches. I am taking delivery soon on my next porsche. Is that -hey there fellow porsche owner-gone by the wayside or still practiced to some extent.

There is one guy that lives near me that hasn't acknowledged me three times - I'll keep waving regardless.

Too Funny. I always do the wave if traveling in the same direction or the flash if traveling in the opposite direction.

They did it 100% of the time in 64 when my dad had his first 356. After 40 years of Porsche ownership, he's said that the "flash" has occurred less and less at time's gone on. I still do it though.

These days you flash someone with your headlights and you get the 1 finger salute in return..
Its sad but the demographics of Porsche owners has changed. There are still a few purists who understand tradition but its rare.......
What response you think you will get from a Soccer Mom in a Cayenne when you flash her ... LOLOLOL
I must admit I was driving the GT2 today and I had a couple had to be in there 60's pull up along side in a 356 cab and give me the thumbs up. I asked if they were they original owners and the lady replies.. Yes, I met him because of this car its been love ever since.. NOW that is cool!!!!!

i think my favorite encounter with another owner on the road was when I ended up driving sided by side with a 356 speedster in basically the same colors (red exterior/ tan interior). It was an absolute blast as we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge.
