New 997 Owner

I am a current Cayman owner who has been lurking on the 997 forum for some time now.

I just happened to be "visiting" the Porsche dealership and they had a 911 Carrera, mint, owned by an older couple in Florida...I could not resist as the dealership made me an offer I could not turn down.

The car still smells new, low miles, not even a crease in the leather and is loaded.....

Very hard question to answer
I have only had the Carrera for 4 days now, so keep that in mind.

1) In the Carrera I can carry my whole family.
2) The acceleration is similar, but I think that the third gear pulls in the Carrera is better. Top speed is also higher in the Carrera. They are very very close in daily driving.
3) The Cayman handles better due to the mid-engine layout, but the Carrera is more fun to toss around because of the engine in the back. You feel more confident in the Cayman
4) The ride comfort in the Cayman is better, but this could be because I have 18" on the Cayman and 19" on the Carrera
5) The sound of the Cayman is better during normal driving, but I also have intake which makes it louder than stock. The engine is also right behind your head, so you can hear it a little better. Dont get me wrong, the Carrera sounds great at WOT too.
6) Braking performance and feel are quite identical in both cars (same size rotors and calipers). The advantage goes a little bit to the Cayman because of the balance....
You cannot go wrong with either car.

Congrats, they both look nice together and I bet they are buddies already... talking to each other at night while your sleeping.
Well, it even looks like you can move them closer together in your garage and maybe can even squeeze in a GT3 or 911 TT!!!
Hey hey, gotta love them porsches!!!!

Congrats, having both is fun to trade off, that feeling of hmmm which one do I want to drive today!!! Enjoy
