as a passenger in my E46 M3, i fell asleep, only to wake up and find my buddy who was driving was approaching 160mph!! i nearly shat myself! he was mumbling... "almost there... 160! YEAH!" then he let off the gas. friggin' crazy ****.

What happens when you hit "Top Speed" for your model? Does the engine cut out - governor kick in - or some protection software stop it? Or is it simply keep going till cylinders shoot out sideways?

If the top speed is computer limited then the car will just stop moving at the set speed and the engine will retard the RPM's to maintain the speed.

If the top speed is RPM limited then the car will run until you are bouncing off the red line.

If the car is aerodynamically limited then your top speed will vary by what the temp is and the wind direction. Your car will accelerate until the air pushes harder than the car.
