165mph in my 996 cab on 680 from San Jose to Fremont while racing and beating some friends in STIs and EVOs. Hopefully someday I'll have the ***** and space to reach the top speed. As for now no crazy speeding for lent since I just got my second speeding ticket about a month ago.

It appears you are in California so I would recheck your California Vehicle Code. According to section 22348(b) of the California Vehicle Code exceeding 100 mph is an infraction, not a felony.

Exceeding 100 mph is a mandatory booking CVC violation. That usually means your car will be impounded and stored.

72 Pantera, new built 351 Cleveland, 164 mph. One of the few times I was scared to death in a car of any kind. Vibration was TERRIBLE slowing down from about 100.

I hit 145 on the backstretch at Road Atlanta in 2001 at Porsche driving school. When I was young and really stupid in with my new 1978 Targa(at the time) I hit 140 in 4th then slide into 5th for up to 145 on 64 west of Richmond, Va. This is all I will admit to on a public forum.

First we have a law student claiming that exceeding 100 miles per hour is a felony in the state of California and now you claiming that it’s a “mandatory booking CVC violation” which usually leads to your vehicle being "impounded and stored". Where did you find this little bit of information in the California Vehicle Code (CVC)?

As I read the California Vehicle Code exceeding 100 miles per hours is an infraction punishable by a fine and possible suspension of your drivers license for the first offense; nowhere does it mention anything about it being "a mandatory booking CVC violation" or the possibility of having your "car impounded and stored", not even for a second or third conviction.
