DrBill, your car is awesome...really like the vent! Did you use an OEM Porsche part or aftermarket? Why is it so hard to come by?

thanks for all the kind compliments...now with the weather turning warmer here in NY and my wife driving the Cayenne i am using this car on a daily basis and just love it. For those interested in doing the GT3 vent install it turns out to be quite the mod since it is fairly inexpensive for a great esthetic improvement. Just order the part from any porsche part dept and then the install will need to be done by a body shop. My part cost $36.00 and the install cost $200.00! Not bad for a exterior mod...

Was at my local P-car dealer here in Stockholm this week, they wouldn't let my buddy order the aero front without ordering the taco wing also, the aerodynamic balance on the car would get f'd up according to the stealer...

Should we listen to him or just order it through Gert? Car won't see the track but will just be a DD for him.

GT3 vent

Dr. bill...
Your vent looks great!!!!! I want to do the same mod but have a few questions:
1. What kind of clips did he use to hold it on?
2. Did you move the homelink box and emergency hood release so as to not see it through the vent?
Thanks in advance!

This is from the dictionary:
poseur

One entry found for poseur. Main Entry: po·seur
Pronunciation: pO-'z&r, 'pO-z&r
Function: noun
Etymology: French, literally, poser, from poser
: a person who pretends to be what he or she is not

That Carerra ain't no GT3.... but it sure is pretending to be...

THE AERO KIT IS FROM THE FACTORY!!!!!! It's not like he put a GT2 wing on it. It looks great. By the way the 997 with a X-51 or Tip uses the center rad. the vent helps keep the air flowing. Your correct "ain't no GT3" But he does not say it is.

The center intake section on my bumper is completely sealed. does it get opened up if you install this piece, or is it designed to vent the air that goes through the end radiator up and out through the center.. Or is it purely cosmetic?

just take a bunch of pics from here so they dont place the vent to far from the edge of the bumper. it should be very close to the hood. that is the most important detail...
