Why is it being tested on track with a rollcage? What's the point of track teating new lights and front bumper - aerodynamics ?

every new design change must be test driven. it's like changing a code of software, you still have to test it before selling it.

bumper change can have cooling and aero effect on the car.

The ´08 models will come with the new FSI engines and certainly need to be tested. The rollcage has every car which is testdriven at the Ring.

The numbers for the FSI engines are impressive. The Carrera will get around 380hp and the S 400hp at less fuel consumption. It´s the same system used at the new Cayenne.

cheers

forget the PDK. the 6-spd manuals are so buttery smooth, i couldn't see having anything else in my 997S. but, having said that, i did enjoy the SMG in my E46 M3.

oh, this reminds me. was it the 12-hours of Sebring that occured recently? anyway, the porsche race cars were having problems with their PDK trannies.

Targa GT3 .. They had such a big hit with the sunroof, they are going to whole way.

The targa *just* came out .. I would be pretty pissed if I got one and my car was changed this early.

That is a big HP jump and different from other info read here and elswhere. Where are you getting these numbers? This size hp move is uncharacteristic of porsche. Especially when you say the S gets 400hp. That puts it very close to the GT3. Usually 50 hp separates the two.
