How hard to setup a locking diffy

in these cars?? I don't understand why the euro cars get a locking diffy and we don't. It looks like it is a very demanding install, possibly yanking the motor from under the car. This car needs a stiffer diff, a set of 3.73's would do wonders for this car. I would be more than happy to give 5mph back in topend. Dave
