Apparently, the supercharger itself also needs to be run in. Why don't you request this important break-in procedure from the manufacturer, who actually knows something, rather than from forum members that almost always have opinions, but often lack any real information?
The "expert" recommending "Run it like you stole it." doesn't have to pay for the consequences of ill-advised hard use before components are run in.

Per my Porsche mechanic, the true break-in period is 5000 on a new car if you really plan on hammering it with a SC. It's alright to run spirited runs after 2500, but everything in the engine is set after the 5000. You should notice better gas mileage (stock configuration)but in your case who cares! please go blow the doors off some Ferrari's and Bimmers for me

5k mile break in? Thats asinine. You're putting far too much faith in a 'mechanic'. The only real break in is the work hardening of the gears in the tranny/diff which at most takes 500 miles, maybe.
Rings seat with in the first few minutes if you do it properly, bearings and everything else don't really have a break in period. It's more the heat cycling to really settle things. Run it through 3-4 full heat cycles and there shouldn't be an issue what so ever.
We 'break in' 1-2k hp motor on the dyno with a 20minute varying load/rpm pull to get everything settled. Change the oil, cut the oil filter open and inspect it for anything sketchy. If all looks well, make some money pulls, get it tuned in, and drop it in the car.
To think anything needs 5k miles to break in just tells me who ever is advising such things really has no clue what they are talking about.

Thanks for clarifying the 5000 mile break-in. Another dealer- propaganda scheme to promote their service industry or just a over-protective Porsche mechanic.
