Latest Mod...

friday i had this beauty installed at GMP (EVO V-Flow Air Intake). as far as i can tell there is no real increase in power, but the acceleration seems more fluid throughout the powerband. Sound is louder at WOT, but not obnoxious.next performance mod...exhaust and ECU flash.

in addition, i think i have the perfect ride now, and im not exagerating. over the last few weeks i have had the opportunity to try several different wheelsets with tire combinations on my 997 and the latest one is, well, perfect. I ended up going back to 19 RH AL wheels, except now I am running 8's in the front and 11's in the rear, vs. the 8.5's in the front. the front tires are 235/35 and the rear are 305/30 in the rear. The offset gives a perfect profile and the only thing i have to do now is the drop and alignment. all tires/wheels were hunter road force balanced.

about 100 miles so far and no CEL. the only real change to the dynamics of the intake vs stock (other than letting the system breath better), is that you tie off the vacuum line. I have noticed that my average mpg has gone up about 1. I usually get between 16.3 and 16.8 mpg on my city commute. Its up to 17.6 now on the latest tank of 93 octane.

very nice, you definitely need to drop that ***** and change out the orange bulbs for clear in the bumper lights.

im also looking to go w/ the v-flow, but then again, im thinking of making a custom cf intake and cutting the hole bigger in the "hood" for more airflow (any comments appreciated in this regard)

My brother RED, we think alike! I like what you have done. Once I figure out how to up load the proper size pic's, I'll show you how nice the black tips look on these red beauties.

Also to 911 997S don't cut a hole, check with your dealer & see if you can buy the X-51 air flow system with deck.(they come with two air ducks vs the single one we have)

X51 won't work...but Champion has an expensive alternative as part of their F77 package that has two inlets.

another couple of mods

friday i had the 997 dropped with H&R springs and removed the cup spoiler/ replaced with stock GT3 spoiler. definitely a cleaner look, unfortunately you cant see the spoiler in this shot. ill have to get more pics later. the ride is very nice dropped. no real noticable differnce in ride quality. having the right wheel and tire combination helped immensely though. today was a 4 hour Zaino workout too. recipe for success.....dawn dishsoap wash, claybar, zaino wash, Z5Pro with ZFX flash cure x2, and wheel wax on the rims.

how much do the H&R springs lower your car with PASM?

i didnt measure the before and after distance. springs generally drop about a sixteenth of an inch more after driving on them a bit...settling. H&R says 1.5 to 2.0 inches depending on the model. My guess is if you have PASM it drops it closer to about 1.5. anyway, it cleans the look up and i have to agree with most others that have them, the drive is still very nice. I am not a huge fan of H&R...had some coilovers on my audi that I absolutely hated...squeaky and cluncky. These springs are pretty nice though.

Thank you so much REDROCKET. actually I'm looking to buy spring but I don't know which should I go with I have RUF front and I don't want my car to be very low that's why I'm asking.

I'll go with either H&R "if the height will be fine” or techart

Check www.renntech.org

Someone there installed the x51 intake but it sounded like there were some mods needed to do so.

thanks for the link
I encounter the problems but was able to slide the oil filler back far enough to lock it in position.
I still can't attach the PIC but will do so once i figure how to do so.

Red Rocket,
Love your new pic's, car looks awesome!

Blk S 997-welcome on board. Thanks for vindicating me on the X-51 air system. Curious, what was the price and did it include a new deck lid or did you use the original one?
