Wheel alignment values
Wheel alignment values
Can somone recommend an aligment which is good for track but also useable for road use? My tires are Michelin PS2.
I am doing about 15-20 trackdays a year.
Has someone tried the revised alignment values for the 997 GT3? Is there any problems to use those values?

I have a stock 2006 Carrera S and have a track/street alignment done just last week. I asked for more camber in front and rear to help with turn in and not wear out the outside of the tires as much. I ended up with around -1.05 for fronts and -1.5 for rears.

Thanks for info. Who recommended your setup?
I guess you mean the wear of the inside, not the outside?
I have been thinking about the revised GT3 setup with -1.2 for front and -1.4f for rears which is quite similar, but I would like to hear your experiences first.
The race/DE ofrum over on Rennlist is where I got my info from others with 997 model cars. Plus my dealer helped out a little and an instructor from PDE. You will not get -1.2 on the front on a stock 997 or 997S. You will need to replace suspension parts with GT3 parts to get that much negitive camber on a 997/997S. I learned you need to keep at least .50 camber difference or more between the front and rear. so the goal on a stock 997 is -1 front and -1.5 rear for a agressive alignment for track/street.
Why do I need at leat 0.50 camber difference between front and back? Is it because of safety or to avoide oversteer?
Is it possible to get more agressive cambers after lowering?

Farnbacher Loles just set up my 997S. GT3 lower control arms required to get enough camber. The Hunter printer was on break, so I'm still waiting for the final values - though Kip said it was something like -1.6 front (or was it -1.8). The car actually turns-in now
Don't go by what's posted - find a good shop that can analyze how you drive, what tires you will run, etc. and they will devise the right settings for you. But understand, without lower control arms, you are going to be stuck with about -1 maximum up front, which isn't enough...
