Roll bar question

Does anyone know if someone makes a rollbar that still allows the use of the back seats and has a removable harness bar. My kids love riding in the car(for short drives).

Porsche used to make one without a harness bar and you can just buy a recaro harness bar to put on when you take it to the track

There is a rollbar with no diagonals that fits the coupe. None yet for the cabrio. FVD in Florida & others can get it.

I don't believe you will find a roll bar that would be safe to use with rear seat occupants, even with the harness bar removed. They really should be used only with fixed-back race seats, harness and helmet.

The rollbar with no harness bars or diagonal members is fabricated by tequipment for use in a coupe. It apparently bolts into the rear sear belt attachment points and requires no modification to the car. Nor sure if the stock rear belts can be remounted on top of it. However, if Porsche sells it, it is highly unlikely that it is unsafe. Issues about helmets, racing seats, etc. are unrelated to the safety of rollbars.

It's not really a matter of product safety, it is a question of proper use. Like many other "off road" parts, they are not sold for street use.

And regarding the bar issue, I really don't mean to argue, but this is simply not true. There are very definitely safety issues associated with roll bar use in conjunction with OE street equipment, and without other racing safety equipment.
