EVO V-Flow Intake Question
EVO V-Flow Intake Question
Does it make huge sound and performance difference if I just add the EVO V-Flow Intake with Stock muffler? I m thinking about buying one but not sure if it will make a huge difference in sound and performance.
David, to be realistic on an NA car, no mod (except the SC's I suppose) will make a "huge" difference. With the flash and intake we are seeing around 20hp or so in terms of gains and better throttle response (due to the software remapping of the Egas). Certainly when you get more air into the motor you're going to be able to make more power (providing it's "cool" air). Is it noticeable? I think so, yes. It's not "huge" though.
The sound difference come from when you mash the gas and above 4K rpms you get a "wail" type sound. A lot of people like it.

thank you so much for the info. so would it be worth it for me to get just the intake? I dont think I have the money to buy the whole set such as intake, muffler, header and chip. I was just thinking about buying the intake for now. I just want little more aggressive sound from my car. My car has everything in stock.

Make sure you also keep a few $$ aside to have the sludge cleaned out of your engine every 20k miles or so ( if you plan to keep it )
These "low restriction" oiled filters are also "low" on catching the dirt. Lol
they are fine for a day at the track, but not on a daily driver.
If you just want some extra "sound" , why not just block off the Helmoltz resonator at your air box ?
That's what the Fabspeed "cold air kit" rubber air intake hose does. They cap off the resonator and people think because the car sounds more "agressive" they also get more power . Lol

The Porsche engineers spent a lot of time and effort to design the resonator for the sole purpose of giving the car the " Porsche " sound they wanted , while at the same time complying with lower engine noise regulations in some Countries in Residential areas .
The resonator is open at low speed (cancels out some of the engine intake sound frequencies ) and closes at higher speed/rpm's , similar to the PSE cut off function at speeds below ~ 50 mph .
I just got the EVO intake, GIAC Flash, and AWE exhaust (cats and headers coming next week) and I must say that with these mods alone, the car feels and sounds awesome! I wasn't expecting much from them, but it definitely makes a difference. Pricing wasn't bad at all for these few items..
I look forward to driving the car even more now...

I was a skeptic but as soon as i put this on i could feel a difference in the power delivery and the sound is awesome.
I would def recommend this for only $500 or so dollars. Worth it for sure.
