1st of all there is hardly any difference between a 07 and 08.
2nd of all I get a car NOW and it would definitly be an S...no bones about that decesion.
3rd, who cares if the dealer is pissed...they will not get pissed as they always want your business. If this dealer is worth anything they will do a dealer trade and get you THE car YOU want and they will get it NOW.
4th if the dealer will not work with you they have to give you your deposit back.

Well I decided to get the car in Wisconsin. Dealer gave me 8500 off msrp plus clear side markers. This will be a long week for me to wait for this car. The salesperson at the local dealer down here is going to be pissed at me, but I don't see how he could argue with getting 8500 off as opposed to the 4k he was willing to give me down here.
There is another solution... by the car from your dealer, let them ship it over... use the deposit as a downpayment on the other car and everybody is happy. They are used to selling cars from other dealerships, they won't like it that much but it will give them some confidence.
Give them some business and get your maintenance and repairs done with them
btw, driving a Porsche and calling it a CarrAra?

1) Dealership websites are not always updated . It's best to place your hand right on the car that you buy .
2) If you left a deposit on the order depending how much and what's written on your buyers order --this could be used as leverage to secure a better deal by posing the question "can you beat this ?" You can offer your dealership a chance to make the wait and car rental worth it . You haven't closed the deal until you drive the car off the lot.
They are in business to suit their needs and you are car shopping to suit yours . If it connects great --if not that's just it goes.
