Hey guys I recently ordered an 08 997 Carrara I recieved 2k off. The problem is the wait is absolutely killing me. I won't get the car till end of August beginning of September and I have been in a rent a car for about 1 month now. I have read so many blogs about people getting 8 to 10 % off MSRP but I have not been able to find a dealer to accomodate this. Today I went on Porsches dealer site looking for an ideal car that would feel like I am not settling I found a Dealer in Wisconson that Has one. I figure if I get 10% off this car my lease payment will be very similar to my regular Carrara payment. Please don't turn this question into a Carrara vs. Carrara S chat as I am more concerned with how this vehicle is equiped, My car specs as follows

997 Carrara MSRP $83200: August Delivery

Tell them you want at least 15-20 grand off the S since they accidentally
put Mitsubishi Eclipse wheels on it!

 

 

 

 

 

Stick with your gut feeling... if you really want your spec ordered car, wait another 8 weeks; it wont kill you. If your impatients gets the better of you, I don't think you'll be happy in the end.

As far as "postings' about an 8-10% discount off spec order, I don't believe it. I came on here when I was pricing my 08 C4S, the best offer I had if memory serves correct was 2.5%; that would have just about covered shipping from that dealer on the other side of the country.

I ended up with 1% off from my local dealer and am happy as a clam. Dealer told me the US only gets 1830 (close) 911 allotments for '08, I don't think they will have a problem selling those at MSRP

Well I actually love this car it has everything that I wanted and is an S as well. I spoke with the dealer and there first offer was 8k off without even negotiating. I will call them tommorow with an offer af around 9200 off plus ship to FL. I will see what they say. There is no reason to get a non s for S money.

Really sounds like a killer deal if they can swing that offer to you... I was only saying it's none of my business to tell you what you want; that being said GET THE S!

 

thanx guys, I was actually just bored at work and im tired of drooling about this car all day so I decided to check almost every dealers site for inventory. When I found this car and worked the numbers myself and realized that if I did find a dealer willing to give 10% off it would put me right where the non S would be. Right off the bat the sales manager gave me 8 k off . I will make him an offer tommorow anyone know how much it should be o ship from Wisconsin to South Florida. Also my salesperson down here is going to be pissed at me I hope he won't give me a hard time about my deposit? I hope he can understand 10k off

I'm paying $2200 for enclosed shipping via Intercity from Boston to Seattle.

Wisconsin to SoFla has got to be cheaper - but I'd be very surprised if you couldn't find an equivalent deal in FL.

 

Do you by any chance have a brain the size of this animals?
