This is a response to the replies started from Rams86 comparo thread. What 0 -60 numbers have you experienced from your 997 / 997S? Specify 6SP or Tip and stock or modified. Throw in 1/4 miles times if measured. Hell why not throw in dyno results as well if you had that taken. I know the mags have their results but most likely pushed it to the limit so real world numbers should be from 2-3K drops.

My car made 310whp/265wtq on a Dyn-o-Mite(!) dyno... At 17% correction, that would be 363 hp/310 lb-ft at the crank, well within Porsche's claims. My car was really strong - one of the techs who drove it thought it was chipped.

997 C2S Cab. 6 speed, stock :0-60mph 6 sec with 3k clutch drop.

I do have that hesitation at 3-4k which the tech tells me is the vario cam. I think I'm going to dyno it next week.

6 sec sounds kinda slow for our cars, no? Do you guys do this at a track or on your own with some type of device?

While doing you 0-60 times in your car please note that the analog and digital speedo are a little off. The digital speedo play catch up to the analog. Using these speedo's is not really exact but I've played around with 0-60 on some flat Florida back roads with my Tip transmission and gotten around 4.9-5.1 sec

I have thought of getting this just for the fun of it, using it a few times and than put it away in a box of junk when the novelty wears off.

I think he's doing it in reverse..

There isn't any track I know of that records 0-60mph times, they will of course do 60 ft. times and such but never have seen one do 0-60mph.

GTech meters and such if properly calibrated are pretty accurate but not perfect. That's why 1/4 mile time and trapspeed really indicate the cars true potential.

I think cars with Sport Chrono may have something like this but don't know if it will do 0-60mph.

The max mph. the car achieved during the 1/4 mile. They call it trap speed as this the finish line where the lights are tripped, or trapped. The term trap speed is the "slang" used in drag racing for mph at the end of the 1/4 mile.

I made 311-313 rwhp during 3 pulls - not sure of the driveline loss %. Hot engine, ~80 degrees ambient, low humidity and no airflow.

Sounds about right... Obviously different dynos, temps, etc. will affect numbers, but they're definitely in the ballpark.

Chris and Gravedgr were you guys running 93 octane??

If it was in Ca. with the crappy 91 you probably wouldn't even break into the 300rwhp range, more like 295+.
