Made the m3 carrera switch :)

So ive been a e46 member and M3 owner since 2003... I loved my m3 and never thought I could own a new Porsche with a huge price tag like that...

I sold my m3 year ago in anticipation of the new M3... but when I found out it will be 70k I was thinking what a joke... Had some extra money and made the 997 jump!!

IM SO HAPPY FOR IT

My car with
8500 wheels this poor man could not afford lol

So I opted for the Turbo wheels...

I dont want to say the Porsche is in a diffrent class since its a 6 speed and my m3 was SMG... But honestly the handling and the overal driving experience is second to none, just amazing!

The m3 even with sport mode and the setting turned all the way up it was smooth compared to the 997... in my 997 I feel the road and every bumb and I love it!

Base price for a E92 M3 will be in the $54K range, granted all decked out it will be near $70k, but you can get a 997 into a 100k range without even breaking a sweat.

Congrats though, I did the switch myself. Love Guards Red, almost got one. I just had 2 Imola E46 M3's though, and was just itching for SY. I like the Turbo wheels better than what was on it...good job

Congratulations

i switched from a M3 CSL to the 997S & though i love this Porsche lots, i do still miss the CSL, it was such a focussed beast !

I wish i had of been in a position to keep the CSL & have a 997

congrats. the m3 is nice as we have e46 m3 but the Porsches i found them to be a little big more enth. oriented and more dialed in. But yes, enjoy in good health. the bottom line you are lucky enough to own a m3 and now a 911.

I went through a similar thought process when switching out of my E46 M3 and decided against the E92 M3 when I saw the 'production' version with the watered down interior to match the ugly exterior.

The turbo style wheels seem to get a lot of compliments from non-porsche people.

Nice, I am still thinking of adding the new M3 after its been out for a bit. Its an amazing car anyway you look at it even though I agree with you that the driving dynamics of the Porsche are much better.
