Borla mufflers group buy?

I know there was some talk of this earlier when David Borla was designing the mufflers and tips.
there are 2 tips available and included with the mufflers the price is around 1100 and 1200.
I was just wondering if anyone has ordered these mufflers yet.
And if there are still people interested in a group buy.
Maybe some vendors can post too.

Here is a link to the mufflers with the 2 different tip options.

http://borla.com/applications/lookup.../911/Carrera+S

from what i have read it seems like these may be the best option for an aftermarket muffler, and a good value since they include better tips.

i think if we just get a number of people posting here and showing interest, we can see if any of the vendors can get them at a good price.
as it is though i think these mufflers are priced pretty well, i think there is a few weeks till they will release the mufflers, but alot of shops are already taking orders.
lets see how many we can get...

Don't worry about the warranty, they can only void your warranty if the problem has to do directly with the mufflers. I have a lot more modifications than these mufflers and i've never been turned down for warranty service.

Raffi, JEG's has these or can be ordered for $1080 plus $11 for handling, free shipping. Currently Borla is building these to order and it takes 2 weeks for delivery.

yeah but V don't you think porsche under any claims is going to say that the engine is connected to the exauhst and the exhaust is connected to the pipes, and then void the warranty, seems risky, at least to me ...

It's really a toss up between the relationship you have between you and your delaership, but if an engine fault did arise, they would have to specifically point out how/why the fault happened. In any case, you could easily put the stock mufflers back on if needed.

I may be interested in them after hearing a sound clip. I used borla on both my E46 M3's and they had one of the nicest sounds, and were problem free.

Hey Dave thanks for the headsup, I called Jeg's and they said that price you had is the best they can do, no matter how many orders we get. also you have to pay for shipping from borla. unless if you wait for jeg to get it in stock and they can ship it out for the $11 handling charge.

I will probably end up ordering from a local place, so I can pick it up as soon as they ship out.

Only problem with local pickup is you have to deal with sales tax at 8.25% or about $100.00, alot more than the $11.00 for handling. Even a local shop has to order it and it takes 2 weeks, unless you found one that has it in stock. According to Greg Orlando at Borla, it still takes 2 weeks as they classify this system as one of their custom systems. In other words its not going to be a mass produced item.

yeah it actually comes to about the same price at the local shop ven with tax.
and it looks like it will take longer if i wait for jeg to get the part and then ship it out.

I would be interested, but would like to hear a sound bite first. I had Borlas on my C6 Vette, and it did sound great, but there were moments when I wanted it a little quieter in the car.

That's why I want the Borlas, had them on a Mustang Cobra and my 04 E46 M3, they sounded great and aggressive. There is a soundclip of V's car, he has a Borla with the Borla header, it was recoreded in a garage so a lot of feedback.
