You are not changing your engine internals so it shouldn't effect your warranty. At least that's my story and I am sticking to it.

Are these the right ones?:

Basically it states that the headers for a 996 and 997 are all the same fitment including the GT3...is this true? Sorry if that is common knowledge but am a noob to P-cars...just got my car a week ago!

Do the headers hang lower than stock ? Some of the pictures on the site gave me that impression, could just be the angle of the photo. They look like good stuff to me. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I sent an email to the seller of the headers on eBay asking if what he was selling was the same as what is being sold by Suncoast and who designed them. Here's the response I got (cut and pasted from his email):

"yes, this is the saem header from them.
design by ruf."

The Ruf part doesn't seem to be credible since it's my understanding that the Suncoast headers were designed by Suncoast (commisioned by them) for the owners 996 track car. Will call up Ric at Suncoast and see what he says.

Seems like they have very similar ebay profile id's bidding on the headers listed by the seller...wonder if they are doing this for price gouging(sp?). My suggestion do not bid on it till the last minute or two of the auction...this is what I am going to try! I just hope the quality of the header is as good as what people say. And if it is the same as the suncoast one then that is outstanding!

the guy is definitely bidding on his own auctions, i have seen some go for so low, but i doubt alot of them went to real buyers.
they are still worth it though, can probably get one for 150-200.
they are definitely not too low.
they do however bend and curve in certain ways that it makes it harder to remove the mufflers if you need to... only issue i had so far.

So I bought these from ebay last week for $150 and they should be here by the end of the week along with my newly ordered AWE high flow cats and mufflers. Do the headers come with replacement bolts/nuts and new gaskets or do I need to order them from a dealer? And if they did come with new bolts/nuts, did you use them or stick with the oem ones? Hope to get this answered soon so I can have everything ready to go to get the stuff installed on Friday. Oh btw, is there a need to jack up the car or can I just crawl underneath and get the old ones out and the new stuff installed? Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions.

They come with Gaskets but OEM are probably better. Since you are getting new Cats you will use the new bolts and nuts to bolt the Cat to the header. The originals should be fine for the Header to the engine.

You will need to jack it up or at least put it on on ramps. Ramps would probably be better. I think you can take the mufflers off w/o removing the wheels but I am not sure.

Suggest you have a Universal Joint on the end of a 12 0r 18" 3/8" extension to get to all the nuts which are either 13 or 14 MM.

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know what the torque specs are to tighten the bolts to? Hope the install goes smoothly. I have my rhino ramps, wd-40, anti-seize, and all my tools ready to go. hopefully all the parts will be here on Thursday like they are supposed to so I can install everything on Friday!

On the torque specs I am pretty sure I read on these boards 17-25ftlbs. But do a search to be safe. I torqued them by hand with out the benefit of using my torque wrench.

Also I am not a fan of Anti-Sieze. Not sure if that is good or bad. Used it one time on the Exhaust bolts on my 914 and they never wanted to stay tight so I don't use it.
