I bought a set of these but have not received them yet. I am pretty disatisfied with the vendor. They tried to charge me $5.00 more each for shipping and optional insurance. Not that I am cheap, A deal is a deal.

great

I was waiting for someone to put them on the car and see if they did any damage.. The headers look great and are unbeatable for the price.

These headers look even similar to the FVD headers. Dont know who copy who or using the same header.

Just to let you guys know that dont know already is almost all the aftermarket headers are made somewhere in Asia. Design here, manafactured in asia. Its just cheaper that way

I don't get your comment. The OEM transmission for this car comes out of that area of the world.

The welds for one look significantly better than what Porsche provides on the x-51 headers!

I plan on doing some physical measurements. I am sure they are better than the stock 3.8 header. That looks like a no brainer to me.

Are they as good as AWE's or other aftermarket headers? Hard to say. But If AWE bend's their pipe a hair different or is a little different size etc how much power difference can it make?

I am guessing their can't be more than 2-5HP difference between any Manufacturers headers.

You are complainging about paying $5 for shipping insurance when it was probably stated in the auction . I would love to see pics of the factory headers compared to the ones on ebay ,maybe someone can post pics of the headers and the openings maybe even measure them and post the numbers .Anybody else that has removed factory headers please do the same and take some pics and measurements and post.
Thanks to all

why are you being so negative?
this part seems to be very high quality. all the close-up pics of the headers i have seen look pretty much the same to me. suncoast, z-tek, maxspeed, cheap ebay ones.
the merge collector on the cheap ebay one looks exactly the same as the suncoast version.
people have had lots of good things to say about the suncoast headers.
the majority of people testing the ebay headers have been the 996 crew so far.
but, the 996 headers arent as bad as the 997 ones 3.8L ones.
i will take some pics, when i do this install, hopefully this evening. but if you search you can find all the pics you are requesting all over the net.

ebay headers.

pix of x51 and oem 3.8L headers.

let me know if you want any specific pix that you cant see above.

Absolutely.

$5.00 was stated in the auction as optional. When I hit pay now it went to $10.00 and it wasn't optional.

Shipping stated in the Auction at $49.99. Hit the Pay now button increased $5.00 to $54.99.

I wanted to cancel the whole deal made me question the vendors integrity, but on E-Bay their doesn't seem to be a straight forward way to do that. I e-mailed back forth with the vendor many times to get it straitened out. They don't seem to read or write English very well.

just a quick update, have driven a few hundered miles on them...no problems,no loss of power ,at least that i can tell.and they make the car sound bettter above 4500 rpm..and hey i spent 200+ dollars on a red hose from fabspeed ,opps i mean a cold air intake when i 1st got my 997 ..so i am very happy so far with these headers.

hey carmos, good to hear. I just installed these tonight.
for some reason i couldnt remove the oem bolts (3 on each side) that connect the headers to the cats.
anyway the rest of the install went extremely smooth, perfect fit.
sound is definitely deeper, better throttle response? (but it could be my imagination). i only drove around the block.
i am wondering if anyone else who did a diy for headers changed those 3 bolts (headers/cats) or just left the oem ones in place.
thanks,
I will update you guys after a few 100 miles.

thanks alot carmos,
i tried so hard to get those out. thanks for reassuring me...
they did feel like they werent going anywhere but the headers did come with new replacement bolts which were alittle longer.
everything went on smoothly though, i am surprised at how much different my car sounds.
i also have done the mk2 pse mod but didnt notice as much of a sound change til now.
the fit was also perfect, i have heard of some people having a hard time with fitment even on the oem x51 headers.
anyway i am very satisfied. i will likely not dyno the car, but i will definitely drive my friends 997 4S without any mods back to back and see if there is any difference.
