Talking "Back in Black"

It's been 20 years since I've had a black car, and I *SWORE* I would never own one again, but the draw to the dark side was too strong and my wife and I took delivery of our first Porsche, a 2006 C2S with all the factory goodies we were looking for. I was finally able to take a few quick pictures on the way home from work today so we could actually show the forum the car.

Garth Jones at Pioneer Porsche in San Diego did a great job working with us to make the deal shine on our '06 C2S, even down to picking me up from the airport. Give him a shout if you're in the market for a new or used toy, they have a great selection of cars on the lot as you can see from my pickup day!

The 911 is the best car I've had the pleasure of owning, gobs of usable power and handling to die for. I'm really happy we got the C2S despite the hot hips of the C4S. The car feels really lively in the corners, constantly talking to you and making you feel like a hero with all that grip. We're looking forward to being part of the Porsche clan with the new addition to the stable.

p.s. sport mode w/sport exhaust is sooooo addictive...

Congrats! I do love black. Funny thing cuz that's where my car is from and serviced. Great bunch of guys down there at Pioneer and real helpful as well. My car is there right now having the bumper replaced with a GT3 bumper. I was just there on tuesday. Small world.

re Pioneer

Great looking car, there is nothing better than a clean black car. I agree that the guys are Pioneer in San Diego are a great group, both in sale and service. I hang out there a lot. Sadly, I received an email from Garth informing me that he is leaving the dealership. I will miss him, he's a solid guy.

Enjoy the car, it looks great and I couldn't agree more about PSE, it is a must have option imo.

I too swore no more black cars. So in March I bought a nice black-over-black 997S. Oh well it looks great when it's freshly washed.

I noticed the center radiator. Does it have the optional radiator or is it Tiptronic equipped.

Beautiful car . . . . . . enjoy it!

Man that is the sex! tasty.

Being the owner of two black cars I understand the love/hate relationship. At some point you gotta just learn to let go. Don't let the color stand in the way of how you drive the car--I made that mistake early on.

enjoy

Euro, sad to hear about Garth, I've sent him an email to his pioneer address but haven't gotten a response back, is he still there? Any indication where he's going?

Ty, we're definitely in, just one of the 5-billion Porsches making an appearance that day from the sound of it!

AP, nothing fancy like an added radiator, we're just tipped this time around.

I replied to Garth's email wishing him well, but no reply yet, and no mention of what he will be doing. Enjoy the new ride.
