Had an issue on one of the bumperettes prior to delivery. Dealer messed with what amounted to a paint bubble and made it worse. Now they want to paint it. I demanded that they order another bumperette, paint it and allow me to inspect it prior to installing on the car. My question is how close to perfect do you think they can match the paint? Also, how many other issues am I inviting by having them remove the bumper to replace the bumperette?

It's not impossible, obviously, but a top notch shop should be involved, and rarely is this a dealer body/paint place.

Find the #1 guy in the area for highline painting, and go see him. Find out what paint they use (Glasurit/Spies/Sikkens) and how much Porsche work they've done.

They should do a test sprayout on a sample board for you (and others) to see before they touch anything.

But a bumperette is a simple job to touch up since it is already primed and ready. Some metallics have a lot of variance in the formula, thereby the reason for the sprayouts, tweaking the formula on each sample. Guards and Speed are also variable.

Good luck. Should not be too tough. Be thankful it's not a body panel.
