Just bought my first Porsche TT and am very impressed!

Just want to give my impression of the 997TT versus some of the other exotics and high performance cars I have had in the recent past.

I just purchased my first TT Porsche last week from Roger Beasley Porsche in Austin (Eric Casas is great there by the way) .

In the past three years I have been lucky enough to own and go through a number of Exotic and High Performance vehicles including the Ford GT (which I had modified), the Ferrari 360 Modena, Mercedes AMG SLK55, Dodge Viper SRT-10, Lamborghini Gallardo.

IMHO Porsche has really outclassed the Ferrari and Lamborghini in both its performance and its qulaity. The car is insanely fast and safe. Only my prior Ford GT which was modified by the GT Guys was on par in the handling and performance of the Turbo. I am expecting that when I am done modding the Porsche it will actually dwarf my prior Ford GT in all aspects and still be able to drive my kids to the mall.

No car I have had has been such an all around treat. I am able to put my kids in the back, and when I want to get out alone at night I am able to drive the pants off the car and show the local show boats what a real car can do. It is a great all around supercar and I must say, so far I like it best of the cars I have had for that reason.

Of course I actually totalled my Ford GT , so I will be more careful with the Porsche TT.

Here is a pic of my old Ford GT on a very unfortunate night (thank god for insurance) :

Wow man thank god you are alright... Sounds like you have had tons of experience in high calibur car's... The 997TT does not dissapoint and your review is definitely on point, but of course subjective to different owners..

All that matters is you drive the car and have tons of fun in it, congrats and enjoy it in good health

Just enjoy the perfection of balance that porsche stock oem does. Take it to the track and leave the linear oem ecu for abit, you'll understand the baseline of the car and can compare it to your mods. I lost all that balance on my gt-640 upgrade by evoms. Then again on a poorly setup kw susp . Now my time is spent cleaning it all up and resetting occasional engine codes : > Enjoy it !!!

Damn Rock, too many questions pop into my head; like, how the hell did you survive that crash?
An impressive review from an owner of several exotics... Nice to know the grass isn't always greener. Congrat's on the TT, enjoy it

just curious, did you drive the 997 GT3 prior to the 997 TT? just curious about driving impressions. IMHO the GT3 is a more purists driving experience and nearly as fast as the turbo. 0-60 in 4.2 seconds for the GT3, 3.7 seconds for the TT. I had a 996 TT and it put a smile on my face every time the turbo's kicked in, damn safe too with AWD. 997 TT even faster.
