Problem will be one of image. No matter how one tries, if your driving a Corvette you run the risk of being looked upon as an uncool and unsophisticated player. Its unfortunate, but so many of their buyers fit that stereotype.
WTF!! Thanks for the heads-up. Anyone want to buy a slightly used(tracked and driven like it was meant to be) Atomic Orange Z06. Willing to sell fast to have money to deposit on GT2 immediately. I really want to be cool and sophisticated so I can sit at the popular table during lunch.

There is a little truth in that, they do get a bad rap for that. Not all obviously, but some Vette owners I know of bought one and brag about how fast they are while knowing barely anything about them let alone drive them hard. Most of them have never been to any type of track and act like there Vette is fast, even though most are not. Kinda posers...
Unfortunalty it is a stereo type that may take a while to diminish now that the Vettes are starting to get fast and are finally true sports car.

point is simplyl that this is, at BEST, an ufair comparison. size matters and you jut can't squeeze unlimited horses out of a sub-4 liter car and have a great street/track car that will LAST.

love my p-car, wouldn't eve own a vette

I am not knocking the Z06 at all by making this comment. I have owned one and just sold it (to be delivered mid week). Make sure you drive one first. The cars are wicked fast and strong as an ox. If you like the refinement of Pcars and other Euros it may not be the car for you. Then again, it very well may be...just do yourself a favor and drive it first. There are some annoying engine noises ("marbles in a can" sound with low revs in 1st gear) and some outright rawness to the car that many Euro owners are not used to and just can't get past. Said noises are NOT the reason I sold mine.

Best of luck to you.

you cant compare this car to anything but the viper. no p-car, ferrari or lambo is in the same category.
im willing to bet that some of the chevy dealers will try to charge a $100 grand markup.........these guys are retarded

chrissurfr - What car do you own? And what experience in real-life do you have to make the comparisons. All the cars you listed are awesome cars in their own way.

Amerlemans - Not sure why you sold your Z06. It is not the most refined car available. But you are right, it is wicked fast for a bone stock car - especially for the money - and it does pull like an ax to 7000rpm in gears 1 thru 4.

I sold my Z06 to do serious upgrades to my house (finish basement and install swimming pool) and needed to "trim some fat" from my car budget. Thats the only reason I sold it. Having said that, I would probably have been looking to sell the car next summer anyhow as I like to sample many different types of cars. There is nothing in its price point to compare it to on a PERFORMANCE level.

Don't get the wrong idea, I wasn't knocking the Z at all...I grew up learning how to drive on a c5. The vette is one of my favorite cars.
When I am making the comparison I'm talking fit, finish, quality and exclusivity.
Vettes and Vipers will always be raw, nasty power american muscle like they should be. They don't strive for overall "fashion designer finish" like the other cars i listed do. The only downside to them is that they have lots of plastic and a cheap finish, thus me saying they are in different category than the more expensive european counterparts.
I drive an Audi. My friends have porsches, bmws, benzes, vipers, lambos....you name it, i have driven it.
Z06 is all about power, not presentation.
