The CTS-V has the ZR-1 engine in it as well as some other pricier parts...just a guess.

I will bet it is 90-100k. I think it looks great. I agree with an earlier post, in 10 yrs GM will either be bust or their build quality will be great (I think this might take 20 yrs to fix). Build quality is there biggest problem. Aesthetics are subjective.

It's definitely going to be make or break for them in the next decade or two. They're going to have to step it up as far as fit and finish are concerned, a decent amount of their cars' interiors seem like a cross between a big wheel and early 90's Civic.

I hope they raise the speed limits so the ones who buy it can enjoy it more. It's a shame that the car will have so much power on roads with so little speed limits!!!!!

The LS9/LSA engine was developed by GM in response to the V10 found in the new M's. Why has no one in this thread mentioned the new BMW engines that are coming out in the future (V8TT/V10TT)?

For $55-60k, I would seriously consider this to replace my Lexus. That's a lot of power for the money and I bet it's a reasonably comfortable cruiser.

While they are going to be great engines they are pointless to most of our causes. almost impossible to tune. If your successful with a piggy back the power will only last for about a month or so and then the car adjusts itself back to stock. thats why there isnt a huge market in the TT cars that BMW is offering. If you write a successful flahs BMW will sue you because you have to use soem of their code for the ECU to talk to the car. ITs a big mess. ahaha

Wow. Tuff crowd. I personally think that the car is going to be awesome. You get basically a slightly detuned ZR1 with back seats for $60k.

I am not ready to put a deposit on it. But sure sounds impressive on paper.

the first cts-v was ok... not a bad car but interior and use of materials was a sham that was the previous gens biggest downfall.

I have had 4 American cars since '99 and did not have a single problem with any of them, I have had A LOT more issues with my German and Japanese cars.

I sold my Audi A8, replacing it with a CTS-V. First American car I've owned in nearly 20 years and absolutely love it 54,000 miles later. The LS6 engine (only 400HP) sounds great and the car has been bullett proof. The V handles very well, but I'll admit the interior needs help. I'll move to the 2009 V when they are for sale.
