That is cheaper than I have seen some '04s go for.

I searched SVTPerformance.com and couldn't find it. Do you have a link?
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums

I did see a '04, a '03, and several '02 Z06 cars FS.

But SVT is a Ford site. I think a better site to find C6s FS is Corvette Forum.com.

At current MSRP prices, I certainly agree.

As I read the section on the ZR1 on those forums, I expect that it will be a long time before anyone buys a ZR1 at anything close to MSRP. And they are discounting new Z06s from MSRP.

I think its also the 7.0 that does of for me, more of a pure bred higher revving race motor! The ZR1 has too much going on as well, ceramics are nice and the cf would be nice on a regular z06 to strip even more weight, overall z06 satisfies my wants in a sports car with its lightweight, monster motor, upgraded suspension components for 08.

It's not like the Z06 is slow from the factory. A normal everyday driver will be hard pressed to get the performance numbers out of that car. So if you put a regular joe in a Z06 against a regular joe in a ZR1... they would be pretty evenly matched up... except one would have an extra $40k slowing him down.

Exactly, and with the added lbs I don't think the performance is going to be anything significant over the Z06!

I agree, and I've had a competitive racing license for 17 years.

Exactly how many supercharged cars can compete in a road racing environment for a longer race (an hour or more)? None, that I've ever raced against.

How many Porsche GT3's have ever successfully competed in road racing? I'd guess almost a thousand cars.

If you want to parade around in a cool looking car and have no interest in racing it, you should buy a ZR1. If you can race it on a road race course to its full potential, I'd like to get your autograph.

Agreed.......I think he knows what he's doing.

These cars will command crazy $ at first (not like the first one!), b/c there's too many people out there with the money to drive the market that way. Forget being rational when it comes to things like this. Millions of Corvette lovers out there, so don't be surprised not to see these ZR-1 become affordable for a looooong time b/c they just aren't making enough. With the C6 Z06, you knew it was only going to be a little while before supply caught and passed demand. I think there will be plenty of car guys that will make this ZR-1 the first "vette" in their collection.

My buddy was at the auction and told me about this. To me, it makes no sense. Besides the charity aspect of course (didn't the majority of the proceeds go to charity?).
