I've got 33 miles. Check engine light is on, door ajar light stays on (rear hatch doesn't close correctly). Oh, and the radio doesn't work.

But boy, does it sound/look good cruising down the road!

The only small complaints I have about the GT are constantly wiping drool off the paint and the back tires seem to wear faster than normal, but that could be explained by the mid 10 second 1/4 mile passes the car makes on the stock tires I guess.

I don't mean to thread hijack, but what Rally in Vegas are you talking about? Maybe I will see you there.

SkyMan,

I sometimes have to gently but firmly push on both sides of the rear clamshell (just forward of the air scoops) to get both latches to fully seat and extinguish the door ajar light.

I can't offer any help with the check engine light or the stereo. Tungsten is such a nice color. She looks gorgeous.

Best Regards,
Waldo

Thanks, I might try to track them down while they are in town. I don't have a Ford GT, but love them.

I used to do that too. I was treating the clamshell like the frunk lid on my Porsche, i.e. lower it and then push to close.

Now I put my hand near the third brakelight and slam the clamshell down as hard as I can. It's the right way to do it and works perfectly every time!

Did the battery die? If it did, letting the car idle for a few minutes and then driving around a bit will clear the CEL.

I love my GT. Sure the fit and finish are probably better in a Porsche but lets face it if you care about that stuff buy a Lambo or Ferrari. The GT is basically a street legal race car and the most fun car I have ever driven!

Pics of mine below...

absolutely not. the car is fantastic all around. power, performance are unparalleled in my view and the car is so easily modifiable if you decide to do that. go to fordgtforum.com and search for owners comments you'll see why many owners own multiple GTs.

Ford GT is a very special car. It's fast. Faster than almost anything with very basic upgrades, very beautiful and easy to maintain. Hard to accept the car when you come from F and P cars. Basically because it's a Ford. The other day I drove a GT500KR, let me tell you I was never a Ford car guy (much less a Mustang !). It's the most fun I had in a long time...I've been Porsche all my life but the FGT and GT500KR are so much fun. Trust me, test drive one and you'll know what I mean. My Humble Opinion.

I don't think you will be dissapointed at all! I like my GT2 and its one of my favorite cars to drive but in the looks department there is no comparison IMO, people don't even give my GT2 a second look and I have mobs gather when the GT shows up somewhere. Performance wise the GT is awesome there as well, and stock to stock would outperform the GT2 IMO. Also the Ford GT paint jobs are better than a Porsche paint job as they were all done by hand, each panel wet sanded and buffed prior to assembly. And as a Porsche owner you must be aware of the brutal depreciation of these cars, probably half price for your GT2 in 5 years and the Ford GT is actually appreciating.
