How much do you think this car is worth?
You guys just are not soaking up anything that is being said. It doesn't MATTER how many original parts are left on the car... it doesn't MATTER if it has the original interior, or what not. The bottom line is that this car is an original COPO car. It may only be a "shell" but it's the rarest part of a car, the part that will never be able to be purchased again. You can replace motors, and everything else... but you can not RE-MOLD a shell of a COPO Camaro... all that is left of this car is all that NEEDs to be left. It is the FACE and body of the car...
With out the "shell", it is like Marilyn Monroe... a celebrity can wear her jewlery, her original clothing, her perfume and hell even a wig... but it isn't the ORIGINAL. Anyways I'm done trying to explain, people are being hard headed.

Take a break from this thread and do a search for what a numbers matching car is. That's where the real money is.
Anything with any other parts, i.e. engine, trans, etc. isn't worth the big money. Yes, it's valuable, but not the holy grail.
I think you camaro guys need to give us neophytes a little more info. To most above average car guys, matching numbers IS the heart and soul. Anything less is....less.
What's so special about a COPO body? Lightened? Strengthened? Why is the shell/body the rarest part (to quote xxforgedxx)
Don't get your panties in a bunch because we don't know the back story,

I don't see how the body is the big deal either, the COPO has the factory body on it. The COPO was a big deal because of the factory installed 427, along with some suspension and tach options. Without the original engine, I don't see how this can become a high dollar car. It will make for a good restoration project and it has the COPO VIN, but it isn't nearly as valuable as the complete COPO's.

The bottom line is that shell or not, numbers matching or not it IS what it IS. That is rare, and it takes a certain something to understand. Hence why certain people don't understand why the Pony car was/is important anyways. Most people shun it as a $100 tow only piece of crap putting on a smart and assertive front when in all seriousness they are simply foolish for throwing out that kind of figure.
