I agree. Maybe look at a C5Z, lightly modded will put you right back to your power and net you $25+ grand.
I've been where you're at... several times. "making do" with something as a replacement will KILL you. Think about getting something totally cheap.. VW Passat (ish) until you're in a better position for a ZR1.

Man you guys have no idea how much I love my z. OK yeah ya' do. I really am trying to hold on just a little bit longer, gotta have faith right? If not so be it, I am young and will have more vettes in the future. I am going to cry now.

I think the idea of picking up a C5Z is good, 25k and easily modded to same power level. However, I guess it comes into question how important the backseat really is.
