I never said I wasn't referring to engines champ, only that wasn't my main concern on reliability. Listen if you do drive what you say you drive I'm sure it's a great car. Based on personal experience I ca say the R8 4.2 engine, and electronics is more reliable than a Z06's and I'm basing my assumptions on the 5.2 vs. ZR1 on that and the video where Clarkson's seat belt broke. Sorry if you don't get my points, and sorry if I may have insulted you, but thats all I was trying to say. Enjoy your car in good health.

I'm not trying to start an arguement man. But in all seriousness, if you think a Audi V8 is more reliable then a LSx, please do some research.

I own an audi, ... in the form of a Lambo lp560. And I own a 'vette in the form of an 09 normal vette and an 08 Z06.

The 09 had a tranny issue and no other problems except a dead battery caused by a non-smart owner (me). The Z06 has not had any issues except its owner spinning it off the track a couple of times and somebody hitting it in a parking lot. I've dumped the clutch on the Z06 dozens of times and just generally beat the living crap out of it. So far so good. The Lambo has been a good car too, just a tranny issue and the occasional odditty.

On the interior side, frankly the 4lt 09 (so all leather interior, contrast, dash leather, etc.) is damn nice, the lambo is damn nice inside with higher quality leather (it costs 3.5 times as much, it should). they both smell good, the lambo has a smell quite like a Bentley, the 'vette has a unique smell all its own. Neither smell as good as a properly optioned Caddy.

Is a 'vettes interior as nice as a Ferrari's or Lambos? no. Is it "complete plastic crappy poopy pilie pants" or whatever the naysayers like to say? no. 4lt and its pretty nice, frankly.

The 'vette has a less-nice version of a GM parts bin steering wheel that you can find in a Cobalt or a G6. Except in my vettes there aren't any cruise control buttons on the wheel, OLDER G6s have them on the wheel. lame. the lambo has some parts bin audi radio and heater controls. They sucked in an old A4 I used to drive and they suck in the lambo. Whats lamer? part sharing on a $120k best-car-we-make ZR1 or a $265k lambo?

both lame.

The Z06 is rattle free. The normal C6 has a steering wheel rattle. The lambo has several rattles. The lambo has a stiffer structure.

Vettes draw these violent, vicious reactions on forums. People talking definitively about how crappy they are, people talking definitively about how godlike they are. They are frickin awesome, I consider the standard C6 the best sports car bargain on the planet right now and one of my favorite cars to drive ever (even though the seats are really unsupportive), but why all the ruckus all the time? Zealous love and hate for the things...

they are cars. thats all.

Easy to hate the Vette.

Plastic interior, gold chain wearing drivers, loud, unsophisticated, leaf spring suspension, etc. etc. etc., blah blah blah.

So much nonsense online about Vettes it makes me laugh.

Seriously, the guys hating on the Vette are the same guys looking at the Vette's tailpipes most of the time. True car guys appreciate the Vette's for what they are.

(and no, we don't give a sh*t if someone can mod their 'whatever they drive' to be faster).

Just because you like to have a fast car w/ a nice interior doesn't make you a poser. Stupid analogy if you ask me. To each his own of course.

And I'd love for you to quote where I wrote anything about their engines being faulty/weak. Do I believe your glorified Chevy's are strong as rocks? No. Obviously their quality isn't the worst though. So lets see it champ, where besides now did I mention engine? Maybe you're just illiterate?

BTW. I absolutely love my friends Z06 and giggle like a little girl everytime I'm in it, and by no means am I bashing Vettes, I'd just love to see where I specifically said engines, thats all.
dont you mean you beat regular c5's. c5 z06s trap 117 a child can make that faster than a stage 2 sti.

Both are great cars but different. One is fully engineered and the other is half way engineered. What's to argue?

What is half way engineered? The Corvettes have held their own. The fastest stock bodied car for over 20 years was a C4 Corvette, that ran 255 mph in 1988! How many LeMans GT1 wins did they have this decade? Hell they had so many damn wins they shut the class down and are now going into GT2.

Just because they run that on the track doesn't mean on the street from light to light they are as quick when there isn't rubber laid down and their tires aren't warmed. Remember the STi is AWD and was effortless to launch especially with a two step. Regardless I've beaten one on a highway roll, not saying the STi was faster at those speeds, but perhaps it was a bad driver that compensated for the number differences. Normal C5's I would completely EAT from any sort of reasonable roll or light. Stage 2 entails Tuning, Short Ram Intake, and a TBE. Also I do understand had I let the races ran out longer than 100 or so I would have lost terribly, and never did I say I'd beat them bad more or less stay with them for a considerable amount of time. Furthermore, my point was it doesn't take a hardcore person to be a car enthusiast. Not everyone who likes cars is a poser. Take it easy all.

I never said "everyone who likes cars is a poser" if that was directed towards me. BUT....many people who act like they know their sh*t are indeed posers.

My Z when it was stock trapped 116-118. Best stock ET was 12.1. I have seen STi's run close to that, not sure what stage they were though. I'm over a second quicker now so I don't have to worry.

I see your from LI. I was born and raised there. My old stomping grounds. I remember DPA and Edison Ave from when I was younger. And Francis Louis Blvd and Long Island Dragway. Where you from?

Those are all the spots bro. The S5 is a little too slow to hang right now, but that'll be fixed within a few months . I'm over in Nassau County not too far from DPA. That wasn't directed towards you in an insulting way just clarifying why I said what I said with the STi. The STi's that were running 12.1 must have been pretty modded. Stage 2 I ran a 12.9X, though I was a bit conservative because I snapped my engine mounts the first time at the track. Regardless I DOUBT I'd have ran under a faster 12.9 or 12.8 even with a better launch. Where in Florida are you now? I see some crazy videos on the I95 you guys got over there.

Yeah, no idea what it had but it ran 12.40's. Was a silver frog eyed STi. Was in NJ @ Etown about 2 years ago.

Yeah i remember all those spots, used to live right there. I lived in Babylon Village for years.

I'm in northern FL. Not to far from I95 and the "runs". And we have some crazy cars down here. Turbo'd Vipers, Z06's, Porsche's etc. We do alot of 3rd gear 60-150 runs when we're not at the 1/4. Alot of money runs too, hence why we keep our cars "specs" kinda on the hush. Crazy seen down here, but I miss LI too.
